Will ER be the new first-choice goalie at Bayern Munich?

Manuel Neuer is not yet fit, Alexander Nübel and Johannes Schenk are on loan and Yann Sommer is only a tolerated goalkeeper placeholder – so FC Bayern Munich are now apparently putting their money where their mouth is!

Like sparrows whistling from the rooftops, Germany’s record champions are in intensive talks with Spaniard David Raya, currently involved in the Premier League with Brentford.

The now two-time team player for the “Furia Roja” had shown strong performances last season and almost ended up in the European Cup places with the “Bees”. Thanks in part to his numerous brilliant saves, Brentford were able to win twice against league giants Manchester City – which earned him entries in the notebooks of scouts of top European clubs

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano now claims to have learned that Bayern are not deterred from seeking him despite Brentford’s Raya price tag of around 46 million euros.
By the way, at 1.83 meters, he is just as tall as Yann Sommer

A chunk of money for a 27-year-old goalie, who, by the way, is just as tall at 1.83 meters as Yann Sommer, who has been criticized in recent weeks and months as being too small for a top goalkeeper.

Speaking of summer: Signing the Spaniard would be a blessing for him, as the Swiss team goalkeeper is only allowed to leave Bayern for Inter Milan as soon as possible if the Munich team can sign a new first-choice goalie or a worthy replacement
