President Donald Trump announced Friday that CNN, Politico and MSNOW will no longer be permitted inside the White House, blaming what he described as their “constant ‘reporting’ FAKE NEWS!”
In a Truth Social post, Trump argued that news organizations should not be free to publish “FICTION and LIES” about the president, his administration or the country. He also signaled that additional outlets could face similar restrictions in the future.
The president singled out Politico for particular criticism, claiming the publication was kept afloat by an “illegal” and “ridiculous” $8 million subscription arrangement under former President Joe Biden. Trump alleged the money was paid “directly” to sustain the outlet and labeled the deal “corruption.”
