Rasmus Hojlund, who recently joined the Red Devils in the summer transfer window, opened the scoring for Manchester United in the 17th minute. He skillfully converted a cross from Marcus Rashford to give his team the lead.

However, Galatasaray quickly equalized just six minutes later. Wilfred Zaha capitalized on a long ball played into the Galatasaray half, shrugged off Diogo Dalot’s challenge, and skillfully glided past Onana to level the score.

In the second half, Hojlund initially had a goal disallowed for offside in the 58th minute. However, he didn’t let that deter him, and in the 67th minute, he embarked on a blistering run from inside his own half and unleashed a powerful shot past Gala’s goalkeeper Fernando Muslera, giving Manchester United the lead once again.

But Galatasaray fought back quickly, just as they did in the first half. Barış Alper Yılmaz found the back of the net four minutes later, leveling the score once again.

To make matters worse for Manchester United, midfielder Casemiro was shown a red card for a foul in the penalty area, awarding Galatasaray a penalty. However, Mauro Icardi failed to convert from the spot, providing temporary relief for Erik ten Hag’s side.

Icardi redeemed himself later in the game when he scored the winning goal for Galatasaray nine minutes before full time, securing all three points for the visitors. Meanwhile, Manchester United is still searching for their first victory in this season’s UEFA Champions League campaign.

A Spanish renewable energy company has introduced a revolutionary bladeless wind turbine that produces electricity through wind-induced vibrations instead of rotating blades. Late Argentina Surge Ends England’s World Cup Dream

Much of the post-match scrutiny has centered on Tuchel's tactical approach in the closing stages. As has happened before for England sides in similarly pressurized moments, the team appeared to retreat into a defensive posture rather than press their advantage. Substituting off goal-scorer Gordon for the more defensively-minded Ezri Konsa with under twenty minutes remaining, and shifting to a five-man backline, invited sustained Argentine pressure rather than relieving it. England ultimately couldn't hold out, and the manner of the collapse — so close to a historic final berth — will sting all the more given the context.

Trump Predicts Lower US Inflation by End of 2026 as Falling Oil Prices Could Ease Cost Pressures

US President Donald Trump says he expects inflation to decline by the end of 2026, arguing that oil prices will fall sharply once the conflict with Iran ends. He believes lower energy costs could help reduce inflationary pressure across the US economy despite short-term market volatility.
