HMRC Takes Legal Action Against Zinchenko’s Company Over Unpaid Tax Bill”
Arsenal defender Oleksandr Zinchenko has lost a legal battle with HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) over unpaid taxes linked to his company, Alex Zinchenko Image Rights.
Tax authorities had moved to wind up the company due to outstanding tax obligations. However, during a brief High Court hearing, Zinchenko’s representatives assured the court that the bill would be settled, with confirmation expected in March.

Zinchenko, who has enjoyed a successful career with four Premier League titles at Manchester City before his £30 million transfer to Arsenal, reportedly earns £150,000 per week. Financial records from 2023 revealed that his company owed £893,133 in corporation tax that year, following an £834,164 bill in 2022.
Additionally, the accounts showed that Zinchenko had taken a £1.879 million loan from the business.
HMRC initiated proceedings to dissolve the company in September 2024. However, Zinchenko relinquished ownership of the company’s sole share on November 3, transferring control to Artemijs Rjabovs, a Ukrainian Football Association official.
Beyond football, Zinchenko has been an outspoken critic of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. In an interview with the BBC, he expressed his willingness to fight for his country if called upon. He also revealed that he had donated over £1 million to support refugees affected by the war and highlighted the plight of children orphaned by the conflict.
